Privacy Policy

Buzzoek completely respects your right to privacy, and will always protect
any data you share as if they were our own.

INTRODUCTION

Your privacy is important to us. Shopper Concepts is dedicated to protecting your privacy and will adhere to the rules as set forth in the ‘Wet Bescherming Persoonsgegevens’ and the ‘Telecommunicatiewet’.

In this privacy policy you will read how Shopper Concepts collects, uses, shares, stores and protects the information you provide and how you will be able to access, control and change this information or stop certain usage of it.

Any information you post on our social media channels (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Google+) will be governed by the privacy policies of the respective parties. Our privacy policy does not apply.

If you do not agree with our policy or terms of use, you can simply choose not to use Buzzoek's services.

WHICH INFORMATION IS COLLECTED WHEN, AND HOW WE USE IT

I. Information you give us: personal information
Information collected from you will vary, depending on how you use Buzzoek (visit the site, register, save/redeem points, use our social media channels) and what information you may choose to provide us with – depending on your browser settings and the personal identifiable information (‘Personal information’) you are willing to share.

We currently only collect personal information upon registration via the App. However, we reserve our right to change this in the future (e.g. by adding web-forms, login functionality, online surveys) in which case we will of course notify you.

Except as set forth below (‘How we share your information’; I. ‘Personal information’) or if specifically agreed to by you, we will never disclose any personal information to third parties.

II. Information collected from your mobile handset
The only information we will get from your handset is a 'fingerprint' to identify your device. The fingerprint is unique, invisible and anonymous and is generated based on your mobile handset configuration and parameters. The request for the ID will be sent as soon as you open the mobile application (by scanning a code in one of the participating stores or by typing in the URL). We use the ID to link your handset to your saved points so that you can start using Buzzoek.

III. Non-personal information.
As soon as you show interest in Buzzoek's services by accessing or using our Website and/or App, we track certain anonymous and aggregated information about you (‘Non-personal information’). This gives us insight in the traffic and usage trends. We use this information in order to improve Buzzoek's user experience and our service.

Due to the communications standards on the internet we automatically receive - and then mostly log – your and other users traffic data, such as:
your computers IP-address, your browser type, the name of your network service provider, your mobile device - including UDID -, your mobile operating system, the name of your ISP/mobile carrier, the urls and site-pages you have visited before visiting Buzzoek and when leaving Buzzoek's website, what search queries you have made and - only if you have enabled GPS - we may also receive location data.

Important for you to know is, we will not link this information in any way to your personal information. At the end of your browse-session the traffic data will be anonymized and aggregated.

COOKIES AND THE INFORMATION COLLECTED

On our Website and App we use cookies to store information on your computer. A cookie is a very small text document, which allows us to distinguish between users and obtain additional information to support Buzzoek's functionality. Cookies are set when you submit a form, login or interact with our Website or App by doing something that goes beyond clicking some simple links.

Some of the cookies we use are essential to make our service work or provide an adequate protection level, others help to improve our service by giving us some insights in how our service is being used (‘functional cookies’). We also use some non-essential cookies to anonymously track visitors and enhance your experience of Buzzoek (‘analytics’ and ‘third party cookies’).

There are two types of cookies: cookies set by us (‘first party cookies’) and cookies set by a third party (‘third party cookies’).

A. The first party cookies we use are functional - (session based only) and analytics cookies.

- Functional cookies: we use digitally signed cookies as a default to store sessions when using the App. These cookies help to minimalize the possibility of un-authorized use of your Buzzoek account. Other session cookies we use help us to determine if cookies are enabled, identify which requests belong to a particular session and determine the start and end of a session.

Duration: all of these cookies will expire after each session.

- Analytics cookies: we use analytics cookies to collect information about how people use Buzzoek. We do this to make sure that we are meeting our Customers' needs and to help us understand what we could do better. These cookies allow us to set an anonymous identifier in order to distinguish users, view details of how our users have reached Buzzoek (traffic source information/campaigns), view all activities and interactions (events), help us to get insight in how often and if users take or complete specific - pre-set - actions or goals (goal flow) and calculate the average time spent on Buzzoek.

These cookies do not collect personal information and will not be linked to any personal identifiable information you may provide. The analytics data can therefore not be used to identify who you are.

Duration: these cookies will expire after 12 months.

B. Third party cookies: Buzzoek's Website and App contain tools or applications that are linked to third party social media service providers such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Through these tools or applications the social media service provider may set its own cookies on your device. We have no control over these cookies and thus refer you to the policies of the respective service providers (which change frequently).

Facebook, Twitter and Google have stated to abide by the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles and are affiliated with the Safe Harbor Program of the US Ministry of Trade. This means an adequate protection level for data processing is in place.

MANAGING COOKIES

You have the right to refuse and delete cookies.

- Refusing cookies set via our Website: in order to allow you to easily accept or refuse the cookies placed when you use our Website we've installed 'Cookie control', a tool developed by CIVIC. If you do not take any action, cookies will always be switched off. To control third party cookies you can adjust your browser settings.
- Refusing cookies set via our App: this link (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1677) shows you how to disable both first and third party cookies on your Apple mobile device (assuming that Safari is your default browser).

If you would like to read more information on cookies and changing your browser/mobile device settings we are happy to refer you to www.allaboutcookies.org and www.civicuk.com/cookie-law/browser-settings.

The information we collect and you provide us with will be held in Buzzoek's systems, located on the premises of two appointed third parties, namely Dream Host (Website) and Heroku/Amazon Web Services (App; database of customer and visit information). Both companies are US based, but provide us with space in a European datacenter. They will have no direct access to our user data since we only use their service for hosting and not for the processing of (personal) data.

We will store your data as long as reasonably necessary to comply with Buzzoek's terms and privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
